The most important thing to remember is to properly clean and maintain your equipment after every paintball game. This is important to keep your equipment in peak condition. - After a long day of play, break down your goggles and clean them with anti fog cleaner.
- Also, break down your paint gun and clean and lubricate the barrel, loading port, ALL O-rings, bolt, striker, and striker button. This will ensure peak performance on the next game.
- Always oil your Co2 bottle O-ring EVERY time you remove the bottle this will cut the chances of a bottle leak in half.
Quick tip: You are only as good as your equipment and your equipment is only as good as it has been maintained. This maintenance includes everything from your goggles to your paint gun. |

Never carry your paint gun from the Co2 supply hose “the braided silver hose between the Co2 tank port and the expansion chamber”. This could cause a leak at a bad time. Quick tip: Teflon tape is great for sealing these small leaks with anything that is threaded it is worth its weight in gold on the battle field. |

Always be prepared for your paint gun to malfunction. Bring spare parts and tools with you to the playing field. The most common parts are just O-rings and the most common tools are pliers, a set of Allen wrenches, Phillips and flat head screwdrivers, a small crescent wrench, and Teflon tape. Quick tip: If you are a captain you should carry a lot of extra parts because ultimately you are responsible for your team. |

Co2 leaks should be handled with caution. Do not touch the bottle or Co2 port. Avoid direct or indirect contact with the gas when released rapidly this gas gets very cold and can cause local chills on the skin and can even burn you if direct contact is made for too long. If your gun starts leaking during a match, set it aside and have the referee stop the game. If your gun is leaking during a match you will be eliminated from the match. Quick tip: ALWAYS check your equipment before matches there is no reason not to always check your O-rings before every match an after every Co2 fill |
